Our client in the Agricultural Industry, requires the services of a Credit Manager

to join their team. The successful candidate must have excellent judgement and decision-making skills. This person will provide a service to farmers from the Southern & Eastern Cape.

Key performance areas

  • Application and maintenance of the company's credit policy within the framework of the National Credit Act.
  • Retention of good corporate governance and financial reporting.
  • Research and development of new credit opportunities for the business.
  • Identification of new customers and the development of business relationships.
  • Proactive and innovative marketing of credit packages.
  • Effective and comprehensive management of the credit book.
  • Evaluation, consideration, monitoring, and management of new credit and hire purchase applications.
  • Monitoring and management of credit arrangements and credit risks.
  • Establishment and effective management of securities and reporting.
  • Management and maintenance of good relations with customers and other stakeholders.
  • Follow-up and collection of accounts.

The successful candidate must have

  • Matric with a Degree in Agricultural Economics / Accounting qualification
  • At least 5 years’ experience in credit management
  • Knowledge of the Credit Act and associated statutory provisions are mandatory
  • Demonstrate experience of banking and / or agricultural businesses
  • Excellent computer literacy (MS Office – Outlook, Word & Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be accurate and pay great attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative discipline and service orientation
  • The ability to work under pressure
  • The ability to operate alone and in a team
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
  • Willingness to travel frequently
