Product Developer – Luxury Brand - Sandton

POSITION INFO

The Product Developer will be responsible for managing the end-to-end development of the label product range, with an initial focus on footwear and future expansion into additional categories. This role will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept creation and technical specifications through to sampling, supplier management, fit approval, quality assurance, and final production readiness. Working closely with Buying, Brand, Retail, and Operations teams, the Product Developer will take ownership of delivering commercially viable, high-quality products that align with the brand vision and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities Product Development Manage the end-to-end product development process from concept to production. Translate design and business requirements into detailed product specifications. Develop and maintain technical packs (tech packs) for all product categories. Coordinate the development calendar to ensure timely delivery of products. Drive innovation and identify opportunities for new product categories and range extensions. Sampling & Fit Management Manage the sample development process with suppliers and manufacturers. Review and evaluate samples against design, quality, and commercial requirements. Conduct fit sessions and coordinate amendments to achieve optimal fit and comfort. Approve final pre-production samples before bulk production. Supplier & Factory Management Liaise with local and international suppliers, manufacturers, and sourcing partners. Build strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met. Negotiate development timelines and manage supplier performance. Resolve product development and production issues proactively. Quality Assurance Establish and maintain product quality standards and specifications. Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for quality improvements. Ensure products comply with brand standards and regulatory requirements. Manage product testing where required. Key Requirements Diploma or Degree in Product Development, Fashion Design, Footwear Design, Clothing Management, or a related field. Email cv to
