SAP UI5 Developer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal SAPUI5 Developer to join a dynamic SAP project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, testing and supporting SAP applications, with a strong focus on SAPUI5 development within a complex enterprise environment. This role requires an individual who can work closely with business stakeholders, solution architects, functional consultants and technical teams to deliver innovative and scalable SAP solutions that support critical business processes and digital transformation initiatives.

1. SAPUI5 Development & Front-End Solutions

• Design, develop, enhance and maintain SAPUI5 applications
• Translate business requirements into technical UI5 solutions
• Ensure responsive, scalable and user-friendly application design

2. SAP Backend Development & Custom Solutions

• Develop SAP reports, workflows, interfaces, enhancements and custom applications
• Implement and maintain SAP development objects in line with standards
• Support configuration and functional enhancements across SAP modules

3. System Integration & Interface Development

• Develop and support integrations using OData, REST APIs, RFCs, IDOCs and web services
• Ensure seamless integration between SAP and external systems
• Support data exchange and enterprise application interoperability

4. Solution Architecture & Technical Design

• Participate in system design and architecture discussions
• Assess technical feasibility and provide design recommendations
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and scalability requirements

5. Testing, Debugging & Quality Assurance

• Perform unit, integration and system testing
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve SAPUI5 and backend issues
• Ensure delivery of high-quality, stable and performant solutions

6. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

• Work with business analysts, functional consultants, architects and project teams
• Translate business needs into technical deliverables
• Provide input during planning, design and implementation phases

7. Governance, Documentation & Support

• Ensure compliance with SAP development standards, security and governance frameworks
• Maintain technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer
• Support deployment, transport management, GIS integration and post-go-live maintenance

Technical Skills

• Strong SAPUI5 development experience including JavaScript, XML, HTML5 and CSS
• SAP Fiori design principles and implementation of responsive UI for desktop, tablet and mobile devices
• Hands-on experience with SAP Web IDE and/or SAP Business Application Studio
• SAP Gateway and OData services for SAPUI5 and backend integration
• Experience with SAP Fiori Elements, UI controls, Fiori Launchpad and UI Theme Designer
• SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and SAP S/4HANA integration exposure
• ABAP knowledge for backend integration and OData service creation
• Experience with SAP HANA, SQL, REST APIs and data-driven application development
• SAP security concepts including roles, authorisations and access control for SAPUI5 applications

• Strong business analysis capability to translate requirements into technical SAPUI5 solutions
• Effective collaboration with business analysts, functional consultants, architects and stakeholders
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Strong problem-solving ability including debugging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and delivering iterative enhancements
• Ability to design and deliver user-centric, intuitive SAP UI solutions aligned to business needs

Experience

• 3+ years SAPUI5 development and SAP Fiori implementation experience (minimum requirement baseline)
• Proven experience delivering custom SAPUI5/Fiori applications in enterprise environments
• Experience integrating SAPUI5 solutions with SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC and other SAP systems
• Strong background in SAP integration, interface development and system enhancements
• Hands-on experience with OData services, ABAP integration and backend development support
• Experience designing and delivering responsive, high-quality enterprise user interfaces

Certifications (Preferred)

• SAP Certified Development Associate – SAPUI5 or SAP Fiori Application Development (preferred)
• SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4HANA or SAP Cloud Platform (advantageous)
• ITIL Foundation or relevant software development / project management certification (advantageous)
