Mining Studies & Technical Delivery

  • Lead and manage Life of Mine (LOM) planning across multiple operations.
  • Review mining methods, development strategies, and optimisation opportunities.
  • Update mine plans, production schedules, budgets, and cost models for both open-pit and underground operations.
  • Compile and maintain Resource-to-Reserve documentation in line with client reporting standards.
  • Support the Competent Person in Reserve reporting and, if required, act as a Reserve Specialist contributor.

Technical Integration & Collaboration

  • Collaborate across disciplines including geotechnical, hydrology, tailings, processing, environmental, closure, and asset management.
  • Use industry-standard software (Deswik and/or CADsmine) for planning, modelling, and simulation.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma in mining engineering (required).
  • Postgraduate qualification, professional registration, or chartership (advantageous).

Experience

  • Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in mine planning and/or Ore Reserves.
  • Experience across both open-pit and underground operations is highly advantageous.
  • Exposure to PGM operations will be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated hands-on, on-mine experience, including direct involvement in Reserve-related activities (essential).

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in mine design and planning software (Deswik and/or CADsmine).
  • Strong Excel and data analysis capability.
  • Solid understanding of Ore Reserve estimation and reporting, with the ability to support CP sign-off processes.
