Platform / Cloud Engineer

Platform/Cloud Engineer responsible for working with Kubernetes, containerised workloads, CI/CD tools, and building and supporting applications running on AWS.

Education

• AWS Associate level certification or substantial years of experience.
• Preferred Kubernetes Application Developer certification or substantial years of experience.

Experience

• Intermediate-Senior level.
• Solid experience with Kubernetes and containerised workloads.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and AWS applications.
• Kubernetes Administration, including Ingress, networking and RBAC.
• Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or CDKS.
• Kubernetes GitOps practices using ArgoCD, Flux, Helm or Kustomize.
• Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch.
• Linux experience.
• Distributed systems and architectures.
• Building platform APIs, automation, tooling and/or internal developer platforms.

Key Requirements

• AWS: EKS, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Fargate, Lambda and CloudFront.
• AWS Well Architected Frameworks.
• Observability and monitoring: Xray, CloudWatch, Open Tracing and Grafana.
• Kubernetes/EKS experience.
• DevOps practices and CI/CD tools including AWS DevOps Tools and Jenkins.
• Cloud-native toolsets including Helm and Kustomize.
• Containerisation.
• Programming languages: Python, Go, Java and JavaScript.
• CI/CD with Jenkins pipelines as code or similar, including GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
• Kubernetes administration.
• Enhance monitoring, observability and alerting using SLO, SLI and SLA principles.
• Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation or Crossplane.
• Release management and oversight.
• SRE practices including incident response, automation, reliability and monitoring.
• AWS Associate level certification or substantial experience.
• Kubernetes Application Developer certification advantageous or substantial experience.
• Kubernetes administrative task experience.
• Kubernetes GitOps practices.
• Experience monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana and CloudWatch.
• Building platform APIs, automation, tooling and/or internal developer platforms.
