People Reporting Manager

At Sage, we’re looking for a People Business Intelligence and Reporting Manager to lead the delivery, governance and continuous improvement of our global People reporting capabilities. This is an opportunity to shape how workforce data is used, lead a growing reporting team and help stakeholders make better, data-informed decisions.
The role
You’ll lead the delivery of trusted, timely and meaningful People reporting across Sage, including recurring, ad hoc, leadership and statutory reporting. Acting as the link between business stakeholders, data architecture, governance and analytics teams, you’ll translate complex requirements into scalable reporting solutions, dashboards and self-service capabilities.
You’ll join the Data Architecture team within Digital Services, which connects business strategy, data governance, technology, analytics and operational delivery. Together, the team ensures People data is accurate, secure, accessible and fit for purpose.
We have a hybrid working pattern at Sage, colleagues must work in the Johannesburg office 3 days a week and work 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
- Define and deliver the roadmap for People reporting and business intelligence.
- Lead the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable global workforce reporting.
- Develop scalable reports, dashboards and self-service analytics capabilities.
- Partner with People leaders, Centres of Excellence and business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs.
- Translate business requirements into effective data and reporting solutions.
- Provide clear, actionable workforce insights that support business decisions.
- Develop and drive the adoption of workforce analytics, KPIs and data products.
- Ensure reporting meets data governance, privacy, quality and assurance standards.
- Maintain the integrity, consistency and trustworthiness of People data.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing reporting team.
- Create a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement and analytical excellence.
What we’re looking for
- Strong business intelligence, analytics and reporting expertise.
- Experience leading and developing a reporting or analytics team.
- Excellent stakeholder-management skills and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Experience in a business intelligence, data or SQL development role.
- Experience with ETL or ELT development and data integration across multiple source systems.
- Strong reporting and analytics capability, including dashboard development, data modelling and visualisation.
- Hands-on experience using Power BI, SQL, Excel or similar enterprise reporting platforms.
- An understanding of data warehousing technologies, ideally Snowflake.
- Familiarity with data governance tools, such as Collibra, and modern analytics platforms.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating across business and technical teams.
Experience using AI-enabled reporting tools to support self-service analytics would be an advantage.
