We are looking for an experienced

Repairs Manager to take ownership of our repair operation and lead our team of technicians. This is a hands-on management role for someone who understands that successful repairs are about more than fixing equipment. It is about productivity, quality, turnaround time and keeping customers moving.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the repair process from the moment a unit enters the Service Centre through to completion.

Key duties and responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Managing the daily repair workflow and allocating jobs to technicians.
  • Leading, managing and developing the technician team.
  • Taking ownership of all job cards and ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitoring open and ageing repairs and driving jobs through to completion.
  • Managing repair turnaround times and technician productivity.
  • Ensuring repairs are completed correctly, tested and meet required quality standards.
  • Monitoring jobs awaiting parts, quotations or customer approval and ensuring these are actively managed.
  • Investigating repeat repairs and identifying opportunities to improve repair quality.
  • Working closely with the Spares and Service Centre teams to ensure the smooth flow of repairs.
  • Ensuring the repair system accurately reflects the status of every job.
  • Managing escalated technical and customer-related repair issues.
  • Producing and reviewing repair performance reports and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, safety and discipline within the repair area.
  • Continuously improving the repair process, productivity and turnaround times.

Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:Grade 12 / Matric.

  • Relevant technical qualification or trade qualification.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a workshop, repair or technical environment.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising technicians.
  • Experience managing a high-volume repair operation.
  • Experience with job card or workshop management systems.
  • Good computer literacy, including Excel.

  • A strong problem solver who takes ownership and follows issues through to resolution.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • A hands-on leader who is prepared to get involved and make things happen.
