Millwright - Eastern Cape

An opportunity is available for a Millwright to join our client’s manufacturing facility in Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining plant equipment, responding to breakdowns and supporting reliable production through effective preventative maintenance

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on production machinery
• Attend to breakdowns and diagnose equipment faults
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance and inspections
• Troubleshoot motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and related equipment
• Identify electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Assist with machinery installations, repairs and modifications
• Monitor equipment condition and identify potential failures
• Support production teams with technical issues affecting output
• Complete maintenance records, job cards and relevant reports
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety procedures
• Assist with continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Millwright Trade Test
• Food/ beverage industry experience
• Mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices
• Exposure to pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Ability to read and interpret technical and electrical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Good communication and teamwork skills
