SAICA Clerk-Randburg

The successful candidate will join the finance and audit team as a SAICA Trainee Accountant, gaining practical experience required towards the completion of their SAICA training contract. The role will provide exposure to auditing, accounting, taxation, financial reporting and general client-related accounting services.

• Perform audit and accounting engagements for a portfolio of clients.

• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

• Perform audit procedures and prepare appropriate working papers.

• Assist with planning and execution of audit assignments.

• Perform substantive testing and review supporting documentation.

• Prepare accounting records and reconciliations.

• Assist with monthly and annual management accounts.

• Assist with VAT, PAYE, income tax and other tax-related submissions.

• Perform bank, creditor, debtor and general ledger reconciliations.

• Assist with the preparation of working papers and supporting schedules.

• Identify and communicate accounting discrepancies and control weaknesses.

• Liaise professionally with clients and obtain information required for engagements.

• Maintain accurate and complete client files.

• Ensure all work is completed accurately and within prescribed deadlines.

• Keep up to date with relevant accounting, auditing and taxation requirements.

• Perform general accounting and administrative duties as required.

• Grade 12 / Matric.

• BCom Accounting / BCompt / equivalent SAICA-accredited qualification, or currently studying towards one.

• Must meet the academic requirements for a SAICA training contract.

• Strong academic record will be advantageous.

• Computer literate, particularly Microsoft Excel.

• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of attention to detail.

• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Professional, ethical and client-focused approach.
