Lead Engineer

Our client is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer to take technical ownership while helping build, guide and grow a high-performing engineering team. This is a player-coach opportunity for an experienced developer who enjoys remaining close to the code while providing strong technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team, supporting technical growth and delivery.
• Remain hands-on with software development and contribute directly to coding.
• Provide technical direction across application development and engineering practices.
• Help shape scalable, maintainable and reliable solutions.
• Collaborate with product and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Support the growth and development of the engineering function.
• Contribute to technical decision-making, architecture and development standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Lead Engineer, Engineering Lead or similar senior technical role.
• Strong hands-on software development experience.
• Experience with Flutter and Python.
• Previous experience developing applications.
• Healthcare/health-sector technology experience is highly advantageous.
• Previous experience leading, mentoring or growing an engineering team.
• A practical, collaborative approach with the ability to balance leadership and hands-on development.
• Experience with AI would be advantageous.
