Role Purpose
The Front-End (Angular) Technical Lead is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of web applications using Angular. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, ensuring high-quality solutions, adherence to best practices, and the successful delivery of projects. The incumbent mentors developers, drives technical decisions, and collaborates with business and technology stakeholders.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Relevant Angular, Front-End or Cloud certifications advantageous.
Experience
- 6 to 10 years of software development experience.
- At least 6 years of Angular development experience.
- At least 2 to 3 years in a technical leadership or senior developer role.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Experience mentoring developers and managing technical delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead the Front-End development team and provide technical guidance.
- Define and enforce development standards, coding practices, and architecture principles.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure quality assurance standards are met.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the development team.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies.
Solution Design & Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Angular applications.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop reusable components and frameworks.
- Ensure applications are responsive, accessible, and performant.
- Integrate Front-End solutions with APIs and backend services.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor and coach developers to improve technical skills and career growth.
- Support performance management and development planning.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and technical training sessions.
- Promote collaboration and Agile ways of working.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and Project Managers.
- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, and prioritisation activities.
Governance & Best Practices
- Ensure compliance with security, architecture, and development standards.
- Promote DevOps practices and CI/CD adoption.
- Monitor application performance and recommend improvements.
- Support production releases and incident resolution where required.
