Wine estate seeking Senior Accountant with industry experience.

Senior Accountant | Stellenbosch

We are recruiting a Senior Accountant to support the Financial Manager and finance team at an established business in Stellenbosch. Experience in hospitality, wine or agriculture is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Manage wine production costing, sales analysis and stock records.
• Prepare monthly SAWIS and excise returns.
• Reconcile cash books, petty cash and daily cash-ups; maintain the general ledger and journals.
• Manage local and foreign debtors and creditors, including invoicing, collections, reconciliations and payments.
• Process international payments, foreign exchange differences and revaluations.
• Maintain the fixed asset register and insurance records, and assist with the annual audit.

Requirements

• BCom Accounting or a similar qualification. Completed SAIPA articles are an advantage.
• Experience in hospitality, wine or agriculture; more than three years in the wine industry is preferred.
• Fluency in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with Sage Evolution 200 or a similar accounting package. Easipos experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ownership of your work.
