Bookkeeper

MAPD Accounting is a growing accounting and financial services practice based in Lorraine, Gqeberha, built on our promise of “Making A Positive Difference” for our clients. We are looking for an accurate, dependable Bookkeeper to join our in-office team and take ownership of the bookkeeping function across a portfolio of clients. • Full bookkeeping function up to trial balance
• Processing of cashbooks, journals and the general ledger on Sage Business Cloud Accounting
• Monthly bank, supplier (creditor) and customer (debtor) reconciliations
• VAT (VAT201) preparation and submission support, and other SARS return support
• Capturing and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple clients
• Assisting with monthly management accounts and reporting
• Liaising with clients on outstanding information and queries
• General administrative and compliance support to the accounting team

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• A relevant bookkeeping/accounting qualification (e.g. ICB or similar) — advantageous
• 1–3 years’ bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accounting practice
• Proficiency in Sage Business Cloud Accounting (or similar) and MS Excel
• Sound understanding of VAT and core accounting principles
• Accurate, organised and able to work to deadlines
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and confidentiality
• Fluent in English
• Own reliable transport (advantageous)
