Senior Software Engineer

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role across the full software development lifecycle. This opportunity is suited to a technically strong professional who enjoys solving complex problems, engaging with business stakeholders, and delivering scalable software solutions in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise software solutions.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams.
• Develop and maintain web applications and APIs using modern development practices.
• Work extensively with JavaScript and Node.js.
• Design, optimise, and maintain databases, with a strong focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Perform database performance tuning and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Participate throughout the SDLC, from analysis and design through to deployment and ongoing support.
• Apply Git, DevOps practices, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Work with AWS and the broader Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365 and Teams.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, technical decision-making, and innovative solution development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–7 years’ relevant software development experience.
• Strong JavaScript development experience.
• Strong Node.js experience.
• Advanced SQL skills, particularly with Oracle and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with web applications, APIs, and enterprise software solutions.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimisation, and performance tuning.
• Experience with Git and DevOps practices.
• Practical experience with Agile/Scrum and the full SDLC.
• Experience working directly with business stakeholders and gathering requirements.
• Exposure to AWS.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Relevant certifications or coding bootcamp experience would be advantageous.
