We are looking for a highly organized, reliable, and proactive Fleet Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and monitoring of our vehicle fleet, ensuring that vehicles and drivers operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and applicable legislation.

  • Coordinate daily fleet operations and vehicle movements.
  • Allocate vehicles and drivers according to operational requirements.
  • Monitor vehicle locations, routes, and driver activities using GPS tracking systems.
  • Ensure all vehicles are licensed, roadworthy, serviced, and maintained according to schedule.
  • Coordinate vehicle servicing, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, vehicle utilization, and operating costs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fleet and driver records.
  • Ensure vehicle documentation, permits, licenses, and compliance certificates are valid.
  • Monitor driver compliance with company policies, road safety requirements, and transport regulations.
  • Manage and report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, damages, and other incidents.
  • Liaise with workshops, suppliers, insurance companies, towing services, and other service providers.
  • Identify and address operational issues affecting vehicle availability and service delivery.
  • Prepare regular fleet performance and operational reports.
  • Monitor vehicle downtime and implement measures to improve fleet efficiency.
  • Assist with driver scheduling, attendance, and operational planning.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and responsible vehicle use.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce fleet costs and improve operational efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in fleet control, transport, logistics, or a related environment.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with GPS tracking or fleet management systems will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and transport compliance.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
