Senior Estimator - Building Projects

A leading opportunity is available for an accomplished Estimator to play a pivotal role within our client’s Building Division in KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technically sound and commercially competitive estimates for high-value construction projects.

What You’ll Need

• BSc/ BTech in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
• 6 to 10 years’ experience in estimating within a major building contractor.
• Demonstrable experience with projects valued above R200 million.
• Strong CCS Candy and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of cost planning and Bills of Quantities.
• Knowledge of procurement strategies and construction contracts.
• Strong commercial awareness and risk management capability.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tender requirements.

The Role

• Manage complex tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission and contract award.
• Analyse tender documentation, drawings, specifications and Bills of Quantities.
• Develop detailed and competitive project pricing.
• Formulate appropriate procurement and subcontracting strategies.
• Identify, quantify and manage commercial and project risks.
• Collaborate with technical, procurement and commercial stakeholders throughout the tender process.
• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Present tender information and cost recommendations to senior and executive management.
• Support the development of estimating standards, processes and best practices.
• Coach junior members of the estimating team and promote continuous improvement.
