Junior Accountant

A well-established organisation is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their finance team located in Durban North. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional who is looking to build solid experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and day-to-day accounting functions within a structured and supportive environment.

• Assisting with the preparation and processing of financial transactions
• Performing general ledger reconciliations and supporting month-end processes
• Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records and supporting schedules
• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements in line with IFRS
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis
• Processing and reviewing journal entries where required
• Assisting with VAT and other statutory submissions
• Supporting audit preparation and responding to audit queries
• Maintaining proper filing systems and ensuring financial documentation is up to date

• BCom Accounting or relevant financial qualification (completed or near completion)
• 1-2 years’ accounting experience (articles advantageous but not essential)
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and IFRS exposure
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team and take initiative where needed
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a finance environment
• Available to start as required by the business
