Our client is seeking an Operational Management Accountant to join their finance team in Pretoria. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with 1–4 years' experience who enjoys working closely with operations, inventory, and financial reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in stock control, stock counts, cost management, and financial administration within a fast-paced operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee regular stock counts and stock reconciliations
  • Investigate and report on stock variances
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock control processes
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports
  • Assist with month-end procedures and reconciliations
  • Analyse costs, margins, and operational performance
  • Process journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Ensure accurate financial records and reporting
  • Work closely with operational management to improve controls and efficiencies

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant Accounting qualification (Diploma, Degree, BCom or similar)
  • Completed SAIPA articles advantageous
  • 1–4 years' relevant accounting experience
  • Experience within hospitality, food service, manufacturing, retail, FMCG, or a similar stock-driven environment
  • Experience working on the Pilot system is essential
  • Strong understanding of stock control and inventory management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
