Our client in Pretoria has a Vacancy for a 12 month on-site SharePoint Developer.

The SharePoint Developer will be responsible for developing, configuring, supporting and maintaining SharePoint on-premises solutions, with a strong focus on SharePoint Server 2019/SE and the latest SharePoint on-premises platform. A clear understanding of the existing on-premises architecture is key, as the role requires the ability to assess the current environment, dependencies and solution design before implementing changes or enhancements. The role requires hands-on experience in SharePoint development, workflow automation, integration, troubleshooting and platform support, with the ability to deliver reliable business solutions aligned to governance, document management and operational requirements. A large portion of the work will also be dedicated to preparing, maintaining and reviewing technical and functional documentation.

  • Develop, configure and support SharePoint on-premises solutions across SharePoint Server 2016, SharePoint Server 2019 and the latest SharePoint on-premises platform.
  • Build and maintain SharePoint sites, site collections, document libraries, lists, content types, metadata, permissions and document management structures.
  • Develop and maintain SharePoint customisations, web parts, forms, pages, scripts and related solution components in line with business requirements.
  • Design, develop and support Power Automate workflows and legacy/on-premises workflow solutions that automate business processes, approvals, notifications and task routing.
  • Support integration between SharePoint on-premises and related business applications where required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform, security, permissions, workflow, customisation and user support issues.
  • Implement SharePoint governance standards, information architecture, security controls and records management practices.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational information management, data governance and document retention requirements.
  • Create, maintain and review technical documentation, standards, procedures, solution designs and user guidance materials.
  • Prepare, maintain and review detailed technical and functional documentation, including architecture overviews, solution designs, configuration documents, workflow specifications and business process documentation.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather requirements, identify improvement opportunities and deliver fit-for-purpose SharePoint and automation solutions.
  • Support SharePoint enhancement, migration, upgrade and modernisation initiatives, including on-premises platform upgrades and continuous improvement activities.
  • Monitor platform health, solution effectiveness and service performance, recommending improvements where necessary.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in SharePoint development, configuration, support and solution delivery.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint on-premises, specifically SharePoint Server 2019 /SE and the latest SharePoint on-premises platform.
  • Experience developing and supporting SharePoint customisations, forms, pages, web parts, workflows, scripts and integration components.
  • Proven experience developing, implementing and supporting Power Automate workflows and on-premises workflow automation solutions.
  • Solid understanding of SharePoint architecture, site collections, service applications, permissions, metadata, content types, document libraries and lists.
  • Experience with SharePoint governance, permissions management, version control, document management and records management practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities across SharePoint on-premises and related Microsoft environments.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a professional services environment.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Relevant Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
  • Relevant Microsoft certification is required or strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications relevant to SharePoint on-premises, workflow automation, Windows Server, SQL Server and/or related infrastructure will be advantageous.

Advantageous Skills

  • SharePoint Farm Administration, installation, configuration, setup and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SharePoint patching, upgrades, migration planning and environment health checks.
  • SharePoint governance, compliance and records management frameworks.
  • SharePoint migration tools such as ShareGate.
  • Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and workflow-enabled document management solutions.
