Hospital‑Based Pharmacist Roles

• Responsible Pharmacist – ensure overall compliance with SAPC and hospital pharmacy standards.
• Senior Pharmacist – oversee services, supervises junior pharmacists, and manages complex cases.
• Pharmacy Manager – lead hospital pharmacy operations, manage staff, budgets, and ensure efficient service delivery.
• Deputy Responsible Pharmacist – support the Responsible Pharmacist in compliance, audits, and operational oversight.
• Clinical Pharmacist – optimize medication therapy, monitor drug interactions, and support multidisciplinary teams in patient care.

Pharmaceutical Industry Roles

• Responsible Pharmacist – oversee compliance and ensure adherence to SAPC and SAHPRA standards.
• QA Pharmacist – manage GMP compliance, audits, and product release.
• QC Pharmacist – perform testing, validation, and quality checks on pharmaceutical products.
• RA Pharmacist – compile and submit CTD/eCTD dossiers, liaise with SAHPRA.
• Production Pharmacist – manage manufacturing processes, batch records, and production efficiency.

Requirements (general)

• B.Pharm degree (or equivalent).
• SAPC Registered.
• 3+ years’ experience in hospital or industry pharmacy.
• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations and patient‑centred care.
