Maintenance Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their a manufacturing facility in Western Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving plant reliability, reducing downtime and ensuring maintenance activities

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance team and daily maintenance activities
• Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes
• Oversee planned, reactive, and breakdown maintenance
• Monitor equipment reliability, downtime, and maintenance KPIs
• Manage maintenance budgets, contractors, service providers, and critical spares
• Root cause analysis and implement corrective actions
• Coordinate planned shutdowns and major maintenance projects
• Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and engineering standards
• Develop and mentor maintenance personnel

Minimum Requirements

• Matric
• Millwright/ Electrician/ Fitter Trade Test
• GCC Advantageous
• GMR 2.1 Certificate
• 5 - 7 Years experience as a Maintenance Manager
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Plastic/ packaging industry experience
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance, asset management, and reliability principles
• Experience managing technical teams and external contractors
• Knowledge of CMMS and maintenance management systems
• Excellent leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
