THE ROLE

As our Junior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the business. While you will take ownership of the full accounts receivable and payable cycles, this role goes beyond transactional processing.

You will contribute to financial control, support month-end reporting, and gain exposure to international transactions and tax considerations as part of our growing global footprint.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

To support the finance team in the accurate processing of financial transactions, maintain strong financial controls, and contribute to monthly reporting. You will work closely with multiple departments to ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and aligned with business operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the full accounts receivable and payable lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform account and system reconciliations, resolving discrepancies proactively
  • Process and allocate transactions, maintaining strong data integrity and financial controls
  • Partner with Sales and Procurement to manage collections, supplier payments, and queries
  • Prepare and manage supplier payments in line with agreed terms
  • Produce debtor ageing and other finance reports to support cash flow management
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close, including the preparation of management accounts
  • Work closely with our Management Accountant to prepare monthly budget and insights reports
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve financial processes and operational efficiency
  • Support work related to international transactions and tax exposure

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Qualification: Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with high-volume transactions and reconciliations is advantageous
  • Experience with Xero (or similar accounting software) is beneficial

Location & Reporting: This is an on-site role based in Woodstock, Cape Town. You will report directly to the Management Accountant.

CTC

· R18 000 – R25 000 CTC (experience dependent)
