The Business Area Manager will is a commercially astute and strategic senior leader to help shape and execute Pragma’s enterprise strategy while driving operational excellence, business growth, and organisational performance. The successful candidate will lead high-impact initiatives, provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making, strengthen client and market relationships, and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Working closely with executive leadership, they will oversee governance, risk, and performance outcomes while developing senior leaders and contributing to Pragma’s long-term success and sustainability.
Minimum Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Strategy, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a senior management level.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Manufacturing and Facilities Management industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplinary teams or geographically dispersed teams.
- Prior accountability for P&L, or commercial outcomes.
- Proven involvement in company-wide initiatives such as team changes, or strategic initiatives.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership & Enterprise Contribution
- Contribute meaningfully to the development, execution, and tracking of Pragma’s enterprise strategy.
- Identify and address strategic risks, opportunities, and emerging trends impacting the organisation.
- Provide sound, data driven recommendations to support executive decision making.
- Business & Operational Leadership
- Lead or co lead cross functional, high impact initiatives that support growth, transformation, or operational excellence.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
- Translate strategy into execution through disciplined planning, governance, and delivery.
- Commercial & Client Impact
- Support commercial strategy, revenue growth, and margin improvement initiatives.
- Build and maintain senior level relationships with key clients and partners, as required.
- Contribute to strengthening Pragma’s market positioning, service offerings, and value proposition.
- People Leadership & Culture
- Role model Pragma’s Pillars, leadership behaviours, and ethical standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior managers and emerging leaders within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Contribute to leadership development, succession planning, and talent capability initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and performance excellence.
- Governance, Risk & Executive Discipline
- Ensure compliance with governance, risk, and operational standards across areas of accountability.
- Exercise sound judgement in complex, ambiguous, and high risk situations.
