Technical Support and Sales Representative

My client is a South African company that specializes in the supply of ID card printers, metal detectors, alcohol testers, Watchdog body worn cameras, access and ID consumables, and guard monitoring systems. Their well-established customer base continues to grow throughout Africa as the reliability of our products and professionalism of our staff continue to complement our reputation among their clients.

This is a full-time remote role for a Technical Sales Representative, based in Cape Town. The position combines both sales and technical support responsibilities and is best suited to someone early in their career who already has some work experience, but is not entering the workforce for the first time.

Sales Duties

• Service existing accounts

• Manage sales enquiries, including quoting and following up on quotations.
• Assist with product presentations, tender briefings & trade shows
• General assistance to the sales team
• Sales Admin duties
• Travel will be required for customers visits and may include in outer lying areas and some neighbouring countries

Technical Duties

• Support queries – telephonic, onsite and remote
• Installations & Customer Training onsite & remote
• Assist with Company IT needs.
• Assist with assessing and repairing all products, including calibrations where necessary.
• Travel will be required for customers visits and may include in outer lying areas and some neighbouring countries.

• Must have a valid driver’s license and have their own vehicle – business travel will be compensated
• 1 - 3 Years technical Experience with the ability to sell technical products
• Preferably A+ and Basic Electronics Qualifications and experience
• Analytical skills to analyse and resolve product problems
• Communication and customer service skills for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and general PC knowledge
• Matric Certificate or equivalent is a minimum requirement
• Preferably familiar with CRM or similar sales tools

R 18 700 plus incentive, AA rates for travel
