Procurement Manager

A leading organisation within the industrial manufacturing and energy engineering sector is seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Manager to join their Finance and Administration division based in Bellville.
The successful candidate will oversee all procurement activities across multiple divisions, including MRP, Maintenance, Manufacturing, Water Tube Boilers, Package Boilers, and Energy Management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership ability, commercial acumen, and the capability to operate in a fast-paced, global supply chain environment.
The position reports directly to the General Manager: Finance and Administration and requires occasional local and international travel, as well as flexibility in working extended hours when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage procurement team performance and daily operations
• Oversee supplier communication and interdepartmental coordination
• Perform daily MRP/ERP analysis and maintain accurate reporting
• Expedite and track purchase orders and delivery status
• Manage electronic purchase requisition systems and Syspro processes
• Review and approve demand-based purchase orders
• Lead international sourcing and freight coordination
• Supplier selection, evaluation, and adjudication
• Conduct negotiation and cost reduction initiatives
• Prepare and manage RFQs (Request for Quotations)
• Perform market research for alternative suppliers and solutions
Minimum Requirements
• BSc / BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
OR
BCom in Supply Chain Management / Logistics / Procurement
• Minimum 5+ years’ procurement management experience in industrial manufacturing, maintenance, or engineering environments
• Minimum 5+ years’ managerial experience leading and developing teams
• Minimum 5+ years’ ERP system experience (Syspro advantageous)
• Proficient in MS Office 365 (Excel, Word, Teams)
