Our client, an independent JSE-listed REIT specialising exclusively in logistics real estate, is seeking a Group Reporting Manager to strengthen its finance function.

Role Purpose

The Group Reporting Manager will support the finance function in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across the Group. This role is responsible for managing the reporting cycle, ensuring compliance with IFRS, JSE Listing Requirements, and tax regulations, and supporting financial performance monitoring. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance and the broader finance team to ensure the integrity, consistency, and quality of all reporting processes.

1. Financial Reporting

Annual & Interim Results

  • Prepare and review annual and interim financial statements
  • Ensure full compliance with JSE listing requirements and evolving disclosure standards
  • Incorporate findings from JSE proactive monitoring reports
  • Contribute to results presentations and commentary
  • Manage reporting timelines to ensure strict deadlines are met

Integrated & Sustainability Reporting

  • Take ownership of integrated and sustainability reporting content
  • Draft and review report sections in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory updates and best practice
  • Liaise with service providers (typesetters, proofreaders, marketing teams)
  • Assess impact of IFRS S1 & S2 and manage implementation changes
  • Prepare draft reports for Board approval

Statutory Reporting

  • Draft AFS for subsidiary companies using CaseWare
  • Coordinate externally prepared AFS and supporting schedules

Internal Reporting

  • Prepare monthly consolidated reporting packs for MANCO and EXCO
  • Analyse actual vs budget performance
  • Prepare UK consolidation and currency translation
  • Manage preference share capitalisation and redemptions

Other Reporting

  • Submit quarterly statistical returns to StatsSA
  • Prepare compliance certificates related to debt issuances

2. IFRS & Technical Accounting

  • Perform/review complex IFRS calculations (IFRS 9, IFRS 16, IAS 23, derivatives, etc.)
  • Draft technical accounting memos for complex transactions and new ventures
  • Assess and implement impact of new standards (including IFRS 18)

3. Audit & Controls

  • Act as primary liaison with external auditors
  • Manage full audit process end-to-end
  • Collaborate with internal audit to enhance financial controls

4. Tax Compliance

  • Prepare tax computations and file provisional and corporate tax returns
  • Monitor REIT compliance status
  • Prepare distribution calculations and dividend proposals
  • Review VAT reconciliations and submissions
  • Liaise with SARS and external tax advisors on audits and queries
  • Support tax forecasting and planning
  • Qualified CA(SA) or equivalent finance/accounting qualification
  • 4–5 years post-articles experience
  • Strong tax compliance experience (essential)
  • CaseWare experience advantageous
  • Strong reporting, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Exposure to AI tools beneficial
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to meet tight deadlines
  • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Adaptable, solution-oriented, and collaborative
