Independent Industrial Psychologist (Medico-Legal)

A Midrand-based medico-legal practice is seeking to engage an experienced Industrial Psychologist on an independent contractor basis.

This opportunity is suited to a seasoned practitioner with proven experience in the medico-legal field and a demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive psycho-legal assessments and produce well-reasoned, defensible medico-legal reports. Contractors will undertake work on a per-report basis, providing expert opinion across a range of matters, including personal injury, medical negligence, maintenance and third-party claims.

• Conduct psycho-legal assessments.
• Compile objective, evidence-based medico-legal reports of a consistently high standard.
• Prepare addendum reports and participate in the drafting of joint minutes where required.
• Liaise professionally with attorneys and other medico-legal experts.
• Provide expert testimony in court when requested by instructing attorneys.
• Maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional practice while meeting agreed turnaround times.

• Master's Degree in Industrial Psychology.
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Industrial Psychologist.
• Current CPD compliance.
• A minimum of five years' post-registration experience as a practising Industrial Psychologist.
• Previous medico-legal experience with demonstrated report-writing ability.
