As an Experienced Senior/Junior Automation Technician/Programmer at Digital Works Global, you will be responsible for:

• Installing, programming, commissioning, and supporting home automation, AV, networking, CCTV, and security systems across high-end residential and commercial projects.
• Leading installation teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within specification, and on budget while taking ownership of site execution.
• Diagnosing and resolving technical issues efficiently, both remotely and on-site, while working under pressure and meeting project deadlines.
• Maintaining accurate project documentation, progress reports, and technical records throughout the project lifecycle.
• Conducting client handovers, providing system training, and delivering exceptional customer service from installation through to ongoing support.
• Ensuring all work complies with Digital Works Global's quality standards, industry best practices, and company procedures.
• Responding professionally to emergency call-outs, changing project requirements, and accelerated timelines while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Working independently with minimal supervision while taking full ownership of assigned projects.
• Collaborating effectively with colleagues, project managers, suppliers, and clients to deliver outstanding project outcomes.
• Representing Digital Works Global professionally at all times through excellent communication, technical expertise, and customer service.

What We Expect

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is proactive, solutions-driven, and capable of delivering exceptional results without constant supervision. You should be committed to quality, take ownership of every project, and consistently exceed client expectations.

• 3+ years' experience in residential and commercial AV, smart home, or building automation.
• Proven experience installing, programming and commissioning integrated automation systems.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking and Wi-Fi.
• Hands-on experience with Control4, ELAN, Savant, Lutron, Ajax, Hikvision, Yealink, UniFi, Nice, and other leading integration platforms.
• Ability to configure, troubleshoot and commission automation, AV and network systems.
• Experience reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams and system schematics.
• Confident working independently on-site while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications

• Relevant Electrical, Electronic, Networking or IT qualification (advantageous).
• Control4 and/or ELAN Certification (preferred).
• Lutron Certification (advantageous).
• CEDIA Certification (advantageous).
• Valid South African Driver's Licence (essential).
• Valid Passport (advantageous).
• Clear criminal record.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
