• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the perioperative process.
• Scrub, circulate, and assist during surgical procedures according to hospital protocols.
• Prepare the operating theatre, surgical instruments, and specialised equipment before procedures.
• Ensure all theatre equipment and instruments are handled, maintained, and accounted for correctly.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after surgery to promote optimal patient safety and outcomes.
• Maintain strict infection prevention and control standards within the theatre complex.
• Administer prescribed medication and treatments safely within the scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and theatre documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional patient care.
• Ensure compliance with SANC regulations, hospital policies, and quality assurance standards.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in General Nursing
• Bachelor's Degree / Post Basic Diploma in Operating Theatre/Perioperative Nursing (Essential)
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
• Minimum of 5+ years' Operating Theatre nursing experience

Experience

• Previous experience in a private hospital environment will be highly advantageous
• Sound clinical knowledge within the perioperative environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and critical-thinking abilities
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
