SUMMARY

Our client, a well-established international freight forwarding and logistics company, is looking to appoint an Export Manager to lead their Cape Town export operations.

This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to shape processes, mentor a team and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

POSITION INFO

Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day export function while managing a team of 4 Export Controllers. You will ensure operational excellence, maintain high service levels and drive efficiencies across the department. The business has a strong presence within the perishables, wine, fruit and general cargo sectors, making this an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced export environment. Duties: Lead, mentor and develop a team of 4 Export Controllers. Oversee the full export process, ensuring shipments are executed efficiently and compliantly. Drive operational performance, service excellence and continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor team productivity and provide support where required. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines and service providers. Ensure all export documentation and regulatory requirements are met. Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance customer satisfaction. Requirements: Previous management experience within freight forwarding exports (non-negotiable). Strong knowledge of export operations across all modes of transport, with exposure to perishables highly advantageous. Experience handling wine, fruit, perishables and general cargo shipments will be beneficial.
