Internal Sales Consultant

Alpha & Omega Investments, a growing electrical and industrial distributor, is looking for a driven and customer-focused Internal Sales Consultant to join our Durban team.

The ideal candidate must have strong customer service skills, good quotation discipline, and basic technical knowledge of electrical products such as MCBs, MCCBs, isolators, meters, switchgear, control gear and related electrical components.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle customer enquiries, quotations and order processing.
• Assist customers with product selection and suitable alternatives.
• Provide support on electrical items including MCBs, MCCBs, isolators, meters, switchgear and related products.
• Assist panel builders, wholesalers and contractors.
• Follow up on quotations and convert opportunities into sales.
• Coordinate with procurement and stores regarding stock availability and lead times.
• Support external sales representatives with pricing, product information and customer requirements.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and fast response times.
• Prepare and send catalogues, pricing, datasheets and product information.
• Escalate technical queries to the relevant technical support person where required.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ internal sales experience, preferably in the electrical, industrial or wholesale industry.
• Basic technical knowledge of electrical products and components.
• Strong quotation, follow-up and customer service skills.
• Ability to understand basic product specifications, part numbers and customer requirements.
• Good computer skills, including email, Excel and quoting systems.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced sales environment.

Advantageous

• Experience with electrical distributors, wholesalers or panel builders.
• Knowledge of electrical brands in the marketplace.
• Experience dealing with contractors, wholesalers and panel builders.
• Knowledge of switchgear, protection, metering or control products.
