POSITION INFO

Role Overview A reputable depot operation in Pietermaritzburg is seeking a reliable, responsible, and safety-conscious Code 14 Driver to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently, ensuring excellent customer service, and supporting daily depot operations. Key Responsibilities Operate company vehicles safely and in line with road traffic regulations and company policies. Collect, transport, and deliver goods to customers, depots, and designated locations. Complete deliveries accurately, professionally, and on time. Load and offload goods safely, ensuring items are properly secured. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance needs promptly. Maintain cleanliness and general upkeep of the assigned vehicle. Complete delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks, and related documentation accurately. Provide friendly, professional service to customers and colleagues. Assist with stock movement, yard duties, cleaning, sorting, and general depot support. Follow all health, safety, and housekeeping procedures on site and during deliveries. Support managers and team members with operational tasks as required. Minimum Requirements Valid Code 14 driver's licence . Proven experience in a delivery, transport, or logistics environment (advantageous). Good knowledge of road safety rules and safe driving practices. Ability to read delivery instructions and complete basic paperwork. Strong attention to detail and accountability for goods in transit. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently under pressure. Professional attitude and good customer service skills. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on short notice when required. Physically fit and able to assist with loading, offloading, and depot duties.
