About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Representative to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth and strengthening customer relationships within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, focusing on sterilization and disinfection equipment.
This role requires an individual with proven experience in capital medical equipment sales within both private and public healthcare environments, including hospitals and day hospitals. Your role will entail high visibility in the Healthcare/Pharma industry and relationship building.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently while managing multiple stakeholders across technical, clinical, and procurement functions.
Location: Midrand, Gauteng, South Africa
Travel Requirement: Extensive travel across Gauteng and the northern provinces, with occasional nationwide travel as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively perform lead generation and lead conversion to a high succession rate within the healthcare/pharma sectors
- Build and maintain strong relationships through active engagement with technical departments, theatre matrons, procurement managers, hospital managers, consultants, and key decision-makers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients.
- Travel nationally to develop business opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
- Keep clients informed of new products, equipment upgrades, software updates, and model changes.
- Promote service agreements, preventative maintenance programs, and repair services for installed equipment.
- Promote the company's products, services, and solutions to maximize sales growth and market presence.
- Source, obtain, prepare, and submit all tender documentation within required deadlines.
- Conduct regular client visits on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis according to established call schedules.
- Attend site meetings for tender opportunities, quotations, and project discussions.
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of exhibition booths and conference participation.
- Conduct in-service training for users and staff at various facilities
- Maintain accurate records of all tenders, quotations, reports, client correspondence, and related documentation.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, Biomedical Technology, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years' proven experience in capital or medical equipment sales.
- Demonstrated experience selling into both government and private healthcare sectors, including hospitals and day hospitals.
- Previous experience with sterilization and disinfection equipment is essential, including:
- Steam sterilizers (autoclaves)
- Instrument washers and disinfectors
- Bedpan washers and disinfectors
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Experience with tender processes, government procurement systems, and supplier databases.
- Established relationships within the healthcare industry will be advantageous.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively.
