Support Engineer

Our client is seeking a technically skilled Support Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced machine vision systems, supporting installations, commissioning, maintenance, and remote diagnostics across client sites. If you enjoy combining electronics, networking, and customer support in a hands-on environment, this could be the ideal opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and commission machine vision systems at client sites.
• Configure sensors, IP cameras, laser systems, network switches, and low-voltage power supplies.
• Assist with software installation and XML configuration.
• Perform preventative maintenance and support on deployed equipment.
• Provide client handovers and first-line support training.
• Monitor field devices remotely and perform ongoing diagnostics.
• Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software-related issues.
• Liaise with client IT teams regarding infrastructure planning and connectivity.
• Develop troubleshooting tools and standard operating procedures to improve support efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years' hands-on experience within electronics, engineering support, or mining environments.
• Strong understanding of networking infrastructure and electronic fault finding.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Advantageous Experience

• Mining industry field support.
• PLCs, power supplies, IP cameras, Wi-Fi, lighting systems, and networking equipment.
• Server infrastructure, databases, firewalls, and networking.
• OPC communication and setup.
• Minerals processing exposure.
