The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) South Africa is seeking a highly organised and motivated Program Manager to support the successful delivery of strategic institutional programs and partnerships.

This role is central to supporting the planning, coordination and successful delivery of AIMS South Africa's strategic programs and institutional initiatives. The successful candidate will coordinate grant management and donor reporting, support fundraising initiatives, manage institutional partnerships, support monitoring and evaluation, and provide governance support to the AIMS Trust and Council.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management: Coordinate the planning, implementation and reporting of institutional programs and projects, ensuring deliverables are achieved and organisational objectives are met.
  • Grants and Donor Support: Coordinate grant administration, monitor compliance requirements, prepare reports for funders, and support the development of funding proposals and fundraising initiatives.
  • Partnership Management: Develop and maintain productive relationships with donors, government departments and partner organisations, and coordinate partnership activities, agreements and stakeholder engagement.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Support the development of monitoring and evaluation systems, coordinate program reporting, and assist with institutional evaluations and impact reporting.
  • Governance Support: Provide secretariat support to the AIMS Trust and Council, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and monitoring follow-up actions.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Development Studies or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience in program and project management or a similar administrative role, preferably within higher education, research administration or the non-profit sector.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, project coordination and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
