Mechanical Design Draughtsman

Our Afrikaans client, based in Paarl, is a leading manufacturer of equipment for the food and beverage industries. We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer to join their dynamic team.

• Produce layout drawings of customers' manufacturing areas
• Develop efficient and cost-effective designs with a focus on simplicity, feasibility, and accuracy
• Compile assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings in accordance with recognised engineering standards
• Prepare part specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), production orders, and technical manuals
• Issue revisions and maintain up-to-date manufacturing drawings, material lists, and machine manuals
• Conduct on-site measurements as required
• Manage design documentation and project administration
• Provide technical support during manufacturing processes and assist on-site technicians

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent qualification)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with SolidWorks (2D & 3D) will be a distinct advantage
• Strong planning skills with the ability to manage deadlines effectively
• Close attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Solid problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-oriented mindset
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Self-motivated, reliable, and positive in approach
• Afrikaans and English
