About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Graduate Practice Accountant to join our team in Bloemfontein. This position is ideal for a recent accounting graduate who already possesses practical experience within an accounting practice environment, strong technical accounting skills, and a solid understanding of South African tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing financial statements, management accounts, and working papers for diverse client portfolios.

  • Processing and reconciling accounting data across various software platforms.

  • Handling tax compliance, including calculations and submissions on SARS eFiling (ITR12, ITR14, VAT201, EMP201, etc.).

  • Communicating effectively with clients regarding queries, documentation, and compliance deadlines.

  • Assisting senior accountants and partners with ad-hoc accounting and administrative tasks.

Requirements & Skills

  • Qualification: Completed Degree or Diploma in Accounting / Financial Accounting (or equivalent).

  • Practical Experience: Prior experience working in an accounting or audit practice environment.

  • Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with:

    • CaseWare

    • Profsoft

    • Pastel Accounting / Sage Cloud Accounting

    • Xero

    • MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

  • Tax Knowledge: Sound working knowledge of South African tax laws and eFiling processes.

  • Languages: Fully bilingual (fluent in both

    English and Afrikaans, both written and spoken).

  • Location: Must currently reside in or be able to relocate to

    Bloemfontein.

  • Attributes: Strong attention to detail, excellent time-management skills, high integrity, and a willingness to learn.
