A well-established company within the electrical, lighting and distribution industry is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor / Manager to oversee the daily operations of its Cape Town warehouse.
This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on warehouse professional with strong leadership skills and experience managing inventory, logistics and warehouse teams. Candidates with experience in the lighting, electrical, hardware or building supplies industry will have a distinct advantage.
Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse.
- Plan, coordinate and supervise receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch activities.
- Ensure customer orders are accurately picked, packed and dispatched on time.
- Manage container offloading and verify imported stock against supplier documentation.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and annual stock takes.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
- Ensure warehouse housekeeping, safety and operational standards are maintained.
- Implement and improve warehouse procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Inventory & Quality Control
- Maintain accurate stock records using the company's Warehouse Management System (WMS) or ERP system.
- Monitor inventory levels and investigate stock variances.
- Manage damaged, returned and obsolete stock.
- Ensure products are stored correctly to minimise losses and damage.
Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate deliveries with transport providers.
- Supervise loading and unloading activities.
- Monitor delivery schedules and resolve logistics issues promptly.
- Maintain high customer service standards.
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, motivate and develop the warehouse team.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching where required.
- Manage attendance, productivity and discipline.
- Foster a positive, accountable and safety-focused working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes.
- Assist in reducing operational costs and improving productivity.
- Prepare operational reports and KPI dashboards.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) – Essential.
- Qualification in Warehouse Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations Management will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience within warehouse operations.
- Minimum 3 years' experience supervising or managing a warehouse team.
- Experience within the lighting, electrical, hardware or building supply industry will be highly advantageous.
- Experience managing imported stock and container receiving.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control and logistics.
Technical Skills
- Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP systems.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of stock control, distribution and logistics processes.
- Knowledge of lighting products or single-phase electrical products will be advantageous.

Additional Requirements

- R25,000 – R30,000 CTC per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
