We're looking for a Broker Consultant who understands that.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role is responsible for managing a high-value Agricultural and Commercial broker portfolio across the Western Cape. You'll play a critical role in strengthening broker relationships, driving profitable growth, expanding market presence, and contributing to overall branch performance while maintaining underwriting discipline and governance standards.

What You'll Be Trusted To Own

This is more than a relationship management role. It's about balancing growth, profitability, risk management, and stakeholder engagement to deliver outstanding portfolio performance.

You'll

  • Drive profitable growth within an allocated broker portfolio through targeted new business generation and relationship expansion.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key Agricultural and Commercial brokers to improve production, retention, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet within existing broker portfolios.
  • Support the onboarding of new brokers in line with business requirements and governance standards.
  • Conduct broker visits, presentations, and engagement activities to strengthen relationships and drive sales outcomes.
  • Manage portfolio performance against growth, profitability, retention, and quality targets.
  • Analyse portfolio metrics including GWP, loss ratios, cancellations, and retention trends, implementing corrective actions where required.
  • Apply underwriting judgement within delegated authority to support sound risk selection and pricing decisions.
  • Evaluate broker submissions and recommend commercially appropriate solutions within Hollard underwriting guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting mandates, policies, regulatory requirements, and service level standards.
  • Monitor broker and market trends to identify emerging risks and growth opportunities.
  • Share market intelligence and broker insights to support branch decision-making and performance improvement.
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced Internal Broker Consultants where required.
