Our client, a well-established civil construction company with decades of experience delivering major infrastructure projects, is seeking an experienced Construction Surveyor to join their Cape Town team. This is an excellent opportunity to work across roadworks, earthworks, pipelaying and township developments while playing a key role in the successful delivery of large-scale civil construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out construction works, carrying out accurate surveys and measurements, and ensuring construction teams have the information needed to deliver projects safely, efficiently and to specification.

• Ability to lead, mentor and work effectively within site teams.

• Comfortable working across multiple civil infrastructure projects.

• Set out construction works accurately from drawings and benchmarks.

• Carry out surveys and measurements for excavations, stockpiles, pipework and roadworks.

• Prepare as-built surveys and measurement records for payment purposes.

• Verify survey data, calculations and measurements to ensure accuracy.

• Manage and oversee the surveying activities of construction teams.

• Conduct grid surveys to establish material volumes and site areas.

• Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment.

• Train and supervise survey assistants and junior team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.

• Valid South African driver's licence.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in Civil Construction Surveying.

• Experience with roadworks, earthworks, pipelaying and township developments.

• Ability to work independently and manage surveying activities on site.

• Experience mentoring and training junior survey staff.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
