Qualifications / Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Purchasing, Logistics, Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Commerce or Business Management
- Minimum 3 years’ purchasing experience in the automotive industry
Technical and Behavioural Competencies:
- Business management and project management skills
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Ability to interpret technical data
- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legal requirements
- Ability to analyse facts/situations and make decisions
- Stakeholder and conflict management
- High computer literacy (MS Office)
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Key Performance Areas:
- New projects controlling to support new vehicle projects through effective planning, coordination, control and tracking
- The role ensures that all parts and services are sourced at optimal cost, quality, delivery and sustainability, in line with company purchasing policies and legal requirements
- Represent Purchasing and cross-functional project teams
- Track and manage critical and non-critical parts against project milestones
- Maintain purchasing systems
- Coordinate commitment meetings and track agreed part timings
- Compile and present project status and launch reports
- Escalate risks impacting build milestones
- Interface with suppliers, engineering, logistics, production and quality
