A luxury private residence in the Cape Town region is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organised Private Chef to join the household team.

This is a sole chef position suited to a creative and self-motivated professional who can confidently manage all aspects of the kitchen while delivering exceptional meals for the homeowners and their rental guests. The successful candidate will thrive in a private household environment, take pride in their work, and work collaboratively with the wider household team.

POSITION INFO

REQUIREMENT: RSA ID and legal residence essential Formal culinary qualification advantageous Previous experience as a Private Chef or within a high-end restaurant environment Strong knowledge of healthy cuisine and a wide variety of cooking styles Excellent food presentation and menu planning skills Ability to cater for dietary requirements and guest preferences Strong stock control, procurement, and budgeting experience Excellent understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail Friendly, professional, and able to work independently while contributing positively to the household team KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and present exceptional meals for homeowners and rental guests Create healthy, balanced, and varied menus Adapt menus to accommodate dietary requirements and special requests Take full responsibility for the kitchen, pantry, fridges, and freezers Manage stock purchasing, stock rotation, and food budgets Maintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen organisation Ensure all kitchen equipment is correctly used and maintained Follow structured kitchen procedures and checklists Assist with household events and additional duties when required PACKAGE: R25,000 - R40,000 per month (DOE) Live-out position 5-6 day work week Start date: October 2026
