A leading manufacturing company in Cape Town is looking for a Junior Quality Engineer to join their quality team. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality-focused professional with automotive manufacturing experience who is passionate about continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and maintaining world-class quality standards.

POSITION INFO

Duties and Responsibilities Ensure products supplied to customers meet all required specifications and quality standards. Facilitate, manage, and control APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow activities. Develop, review, and implement quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection standards. Drive customer concerns and internal quality issues through the 8D problem-solving process. Coordinate new product launches, including capability studies and part measurement trials. Issue, monitor, and close Corrective Action Requests (CARs). Manage containment activities and support third-party containment processes when required. Conduct SPC monitoring and data analysis to identify trends and drive improvements. Perform first-off inspections within production environments. Compile and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly quality reporting. Monitor and track quality KPIs, targets, and objectives. Liaise with testing laboratories and implement corrective actions for out-of-specification conditions. Minimum Requirements Minimum 3 years' experience in a Quality Engineering or similar role within the automotive manufacturing environment. Relevant qualification in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related technical field. Strong working knowledge of Automotive Core Tools, including: APQP PPAP FMEA SPC MSA Understanding of customer-specific automotive requirements. Experience supporting new product introduction and launch activities. Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Key Competencies Strong technical and quality systems knowledge. Meticulous attention to detail. Lean manufacturing understanding.
