Senior AWS Infrastructure Engineer, Gauteng, R1.6m pa

This opportunity enables you to have a hand in the strategic transformation program that establishes the future security architecture of this company's global IT landscape. You will contribute to the implementation of modern Zero Trust capabilities across identity, connectivity, workspace, data and security domains, helping to build secure, automated and AI enabled services that protect global business operations.

You will need a proven track record of designing and operating secure, scalable, highly available cloud platforms, with demonstrable experience in networking, containers, security and automation; strong systems thinking, risk management and problem-solving skills; be curious solution-minded, take ownership, drive topics.

• Extensive hands-on experience (typically 6+ years) in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering or DevOps roles with strong AWS experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud platform as the primary cloud provider.
• Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, VPNs, load balancing, and routing.
• Expertise with storage and compute services in public cloud environments.
• Proficient with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes for platform deployments.
• Strong competence in security controls: IAM, RBAC, secrets management and security frameworks.
• Infrastructure-as-Code and automation experience using Terraform and CI/CD tooling (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
• Infrastructure testing and security: experience building automated tests for IaC (unit tests, plan/apply validations), IaC security scanning (e.g., checkov, tfsec) and secure deployment pipelines
• Experience implementing and operating monitoring and observability solutions (Grafana, Prometheus, Azure Monitor, Application Insights).
• Skilled in designing secure, highly available and scalable platform architectures.
• Comfortable building, consuming and integrating interfaces and APIs across infrastructure and platform components.
