Columba Leadership Trust
The Role: Columba Leadership is looking to appoint experienced and passionate Faculty in Cape Town, Western Cape. The role is to lead a learning process for principals, educators, and learners, and to facilitate concepts and principles in line with the Columba Programme elicitation model, using both verbal and non-verbal techniques appropriate for participants' development. We require an experienced Facilitator for both in-person (residential academies or school-based sessions) and online activities.

Duties include but are not limited to
Leadership Academies
- Prepare participants for Residential Academy
- Collect and prepare documentation for Residential Academy
- Participate in Residential Academy planning 2 weeks before each Residential Academy
- Facilitate Leadership Academies
- Participate in debrief sessions and share peer-to-peer feedback in an open and honest manner which will assist with future development of team members
- Alert Provincial Manager and National Academy Manager of significant issues with learners who require additional support.
- Submit a small set of quality photos to the Programmes Team immediately post the Academy
Stakeholder Engagement
- Ability to communicate with Principals, Educators and Learners
- Stakeholder engagement with the Department of Education, Investors and Government Representatives when at the schools, PIS and Communities of Practice
Operational Delivery
- Deliver quality engagement as per SOPS
- Proactive troubleshooting
- Effective and intentional engagement with principal, educators and learners
- Where we work with shared team members ensure effective communication with National Operations Manager and Programmes Team
Special Deliveries
- Facilitate Special Deliveries as shared by the Programmes Team and the Provincial Manager
Monitoring & Evaluation
- Implement Monitoring and Evaluation Plan with support from the Monitoring and Evaluation Team
- Contribute to provincial reports for investors – identify and share positive stories and take photographs of activities
- Assist Provincial Manager to prepare reports for submission to the Monitoring and Evaluation Team
Programmes
- Assist Programmes Team by sharing impact stories
- Assist in identifying impact stories for Online Shows
- Provide constant feedback to Programme Team in respect of trends taking place in the field which will allow for innovation
Communication
- Regularly post Academy happenings on the CL WhatsApp
- Identify and share impact stories of Principals, SMT, educators, learners and Alumni
- Assist in identifying impact stories for Online Shows
And any other ad hoc duties as requested by the Provincial Manager
- Must be in possession of a Bachelor of Psychology or a Social Sciences Degree, Youth or Community Development Degree
- Must have 3 – 5 years’ experience in Youth Development
- Experience working for an NGO or NPO will be an added advantage
- Driver's license essential
- Must be willing to travel extensively in South Africa
- Willing to be away from home for 2 weeks per month
- Superb facilitation skills
- Proficient in written and verbal English
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong planning, time management, co-ordination and admin skills with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills, has the ability to take initiative and be a team player
- Must be proficient in MS Office
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fluid environment
- Ability to work under pressure
- Honest and reliable
- Administratively strong
