PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

As a Graduate: Replenishment Buyer, you will be responsible for ordering, planning, and managing stock inventory across assigned products, suppliers, and/or categories to deliver agreed service levels to both internal and external customers. It is important to be able to manage stock levels to prevent out of stocks or overstocks.​

​The role also involves liaising with suppliers on stock-related matters and ensuring the timely introduction and progression of both new and existing products within the business.

This role is based at the Econo Foods central office in Cape Town (Bellville/Tygervalley) - so applicants MUST be based or live in Cape Town.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage stock replenishment and inventory control on an agreed range of company products​
  • Review, analyse and forecast stock requirements.​
  • Control the movement of stock levels to prevent overstocks and waste whilst improving service levels.​
  • Work on inbound order issues, returns, supplier recalls and load prioritisation with DC ops Monitoring performance of new lines and promotions.​
  • Proactively reviewing sales information to support continuous improvement on stock levels, service and buying opportunities.​
  • Learning supply chain systems and processes with a view to supporting and implementation of these systems and processes.​
  • Providing support for ordering during seasonal and holiday periods under the guidance of the Merchandise Manager.​
  • Developing strong working relationships with suppliers, customers and team members.​

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

1. Must have the following completed qualification National Diploma (NQF-6) or BCom degree (NQF-7) in...

  • Procurement
  • Business Administration
  • Retail Management
  • Operations Management

3.Some knowledge or exposure to using a computerised Inventory Management System.

4.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages, particularly Microsoft Excel

5.Experience in analysing and interpreting data

6.Strong ability to interpret data, forecast trends, and make data-driven decisions.

Important information to take note

  • The Graduate program is for a duration of 12 months (fixed term contract)
  • Must have completed/graduated in one of the above fields (Diploma or Degree - NQF Level 6 / 7)
  • Avaialble to start asap - 03 August 2026
  • Available full time ( Monday -Friday)
  • Not actively enrolled in another study program (Learnership/Internship/Graduate Programme) especialy with the W&RSETA
  • Passionate, hardworking, wanting to grow and learn
  • Building your career in a Fast Moving Consumer Goods industry (FMCG).
  • Salary is R5 500 per month (as per the SETA Stipend for HET Degree Graduates)
  • Must be of Youth age between 20 - 35 years old
