POSITION INFO

Purpose of the Role The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing and executing the company's procurement strategy by identifying and sourcing innovative products, building supplier partnerships, negotiating favourable commercial agreements and driving continuous cost improvements. The role focuses on securing reliable international supply sources, identifying market opportunities, managing supplier performance and ensuring the business remains competitive through procurement initiatives. Import buying, procurement administration, and logistics coordination form a supporting function. KPI''s will focus on: Key Performance Indicators Annual procurement savings achieved New suppliers introduced New products sourced Gross margin improvement Supplier performance Inventory optimisation Product Sourcing & Innovation Research international markets for new and innovative products. Identify opportunities to expand and improve the product range. Source alternative products that improve quality, profitability and competitiveness. Identify private label opportunities and support new product launches. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity. Supplier Relationship Management Build collaborative supplier relationships. Conduct supplier performance reviews and resolve disputes. Ensure suppliers meet quality and service standards. Commercial Negotiation & Cost Optimisation Negotiate pricing, payment terms, rebates, freight terms, exclusivity and contracts. Deliver measurable procurement savings. Analyse landed costs and improve gross margins. Monitor exchange rate impacts and recommend mitigation strategies. Import Procurement & Supply Chain Plan purchasing with department buyers based on forecasts. Manage import purchasing, freight, customs compliance and landed costing on given suppliers and products. Ensure continuity of supply while optimising inventory. Buying & Procurement Administration Process purchase orders and maintain supplier records. Monitor stock levels and shipment schedules. Coordinate supplier payments and reconciliations. Maintain accurate import documentation and communicate ETAs. Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with NRCS, SABS, SARS and customs regulations. Maintain Letters of Authority and audit-ready procurement records.
