POSITION INFO

Join a well-established international healthcare services provider supporting diagnostic imaging and radiology operations across multiple markets. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate medical coding and billing processes that directly impact revenue generation, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence. You will work closely with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to review radiology reports, apply Medicare Diagnostic Imaging coding guidelines, maintain data integrity, and support billing processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge within a highly technical and evolving healthcare environment. This position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract with the opportunity to gain exposure to international healthcare systems and best practices. Key Responsibilities Review and accurately code diagnostic imaging studies using Medicare Diagnostic Imaging guidelines. Ensure all studies are processed within required billing and month-end deadlines. Work closely with Finance and IT teams to facilitate bi-monthly billing processes. Investigate billing discrepancies and assist with query resolution. Maintain coding accuracy to support customer billing and radiologist remuneration. Perform data integrity checks and contribute to process improvements. Job Experience and Skills Required Education: Matric (Grade 12) Medical Coding Certification or relevant healthcare qualification advantageous Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience within the medical or healthcare sector Experience in medical coding, medical billing, radiology administration, or clinical administration advantageous Exposure to diagnostic imaging or Medicare coding highly beneficial Skills: Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word Experience working with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) advantageous Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Preferred Backgrounds: Medical Coders Radiographers Nurses Paramedics Dental Professionals Medical Administrators Current or former Medical Students Location: Woodstock, Cape Town (Office-Based) Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract Benefits: Medical Aid Contribution Gap Cover Life Cover Disability Cover Income Protection Severe Illness Cover Funeral Cover Provident Fund Market-related salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications Apply now!
