We're partnering with a respected national organisation to appoint an experienced Debtors Manager who can lead a high-performing team, strengthen debtor processes, improve collections, and deliver an exceptional customer experience across a complex finance environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys developing people, driving accountability, and continuously improving business processes.
Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll take ownership of the Debtors function while leading and developing a team responsible for maintaining healthy debtor books, effective cash collection, and outstanding client service.
You'll work closely with Finance, Operations, HR, and key clients to ensure the business operates efficiently while maintaining strong financial controls and long-term customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
As Debtors Manager, you will:
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Debtors team
- Drive effective cash collection and minimise outstanding debt
- Monitor and manage the full debtor age analysis across the business
- Ensure accurate allocations, reconciliations and account maintenance
- Oversee new client onboarding and credit approval processes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and internal stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement across debtor processes and systems
- Identify financial risks and implement practical solutions
- Monitor service levels, query resolution and customer satisfaction
- Produce meaningful management reports and debtor performance analysis
- Support audit requirements and ensure compliance with financial controls
- Partner with Operations to resolve complex debtor and client issues
- Recruit, train, mentor and develop finance team members
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For
To succeed in this role, you'll bring:
- A Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Minimum 7 years' experience in Debtors, Accounts Receivable or Credit Management
- At least 3 years' experience leading and managing finance teams
- Strong knowledge of:
- Credit Management
- Debtor Management
- Cash Collections
- Financial Controls
- Risk Management
- Reconciliations
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong commercial awareness and sound financial judgement
- Outstanding leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills
You'll Stand Out If You Have
- Experience leading large or multi-site debtor functions
- A track record of improving collections and reducing aged debt
- Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies
- The ability to influence stakeholders across Finance and Operations
- A passion for developing high-performing teams
