SUMMARY
POSITION INFO
Key Responsibilities Develop, review, and update academic administration policies, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and best practices. Interpret legislative, regulatory, and accreditation standards into actionable policies and procedures. Coordinate regular policy reviews and recommend amendments in line with changing regulatory landscapes. Conduct regular compliance audits of academic records, registration processes, student data management, and institutional reporting. Identify compliance risks and proactively implement mitigation measures. Oversee internal controls to maintain data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality, and compliance with data-protection legislation. Develop and deliver compliance training sessions and resources for staff and faculty. Clearly communicate policy changes, compliance obligations, and risk areas to internal stakeholders. Serve as a key resource on academic compliance questions or concerns. Manage accreditation and registration processes and submissions, ensuring alignment with higher education regulatory bodies. Prepare and submit accurate and timely statutory reports to governmental and regulatory bodies. Maintain documentation and evidence required for accreditation audits and institutional quality reviews. Capture, document, and communicate action items from academic governance meetings. Track and monitor the progress of governance-related tasks. Collaborate with academic committees, chairs, and members. Provide regular updates and reports on governance actions. Establish and maintain comprehensive compliance documentation. Oversee the integrity and security of academic records. Act as the primary liaison for data privacy compliance within academic administration. Ensure adherence to data privacy laws including POPIA. Provide training and guidance on compliance requirements regarding privacy and information management.
